New security protecting our birds
Apr 10, 2007
Following the theft of a Harris Hawk and red-tailed Buzzard, we are pleased to announce our new security measures that are protecting our premises.
We have installed state of the art online cameras known as 3rdi.
These are cameras with a difference as they allow us to view live images from a mobile phone anywhere in the world.
As well as viewing live images, we are able to access activity dating back over 2 months in order to investigate incidents.
The most useful feature of these camera's is that they are also triggered by movement from up to 25metres away and send an immediate alert to a designated mobile phone allowing live images to viwed from anywhere in the world.
All of this happens within 2.5 seconds of movement being detected, which means that we are able to call 999 whilst trespassers are still on the premises.
As the nearest police station is only 2.5 miles away we have been assured by local officers that a police response would be very rapid indeed.
Admittedly there have have been a number of occassions when the director has been woken up by the alert system in the middle of the night because a fox has wandered through the flying arena, but at least its a sign the cameras work.
